1. Acquiring Bulls

1.1. Breeder Genetics will acquire a bull

1.1.1. Breeder Genetics will pay for the collection and storage of all the semen.

1.1.2. The breeder will have access to 50 free semen straws for the nominated bull.

1.1.3. After the first 50 free semen straws, the breeder will be charged at collection cost per unit for any further semen purchases.

1.1.3.1. Collection cost will be determined from the collection cost divided by the number of straws frozen.

1.1.4. The breeder will have the first access to the semen for the nominated bull.

1.1.5. A maximum of 250 units will be collected upon the first collection.

1.2. Stud Stock breeders will have the ability to submit bulls into the program

1.2.1. Stud Stock breeders will be required to become a member to access 1.2.

1.2.2. The breeder will have access to 50 free semen straws for that nominated bull.

1.2.3. After the first 50 free semen straws, the breeder will be charged at collection cost per unit for any further semen purchases.

1.2.3.1. Collection cost will be determined from the collection cost divided by the number of straws frozen.

1.2.4. The breeder will have the first access to the semen for that nominated bull.

1.2.5. A maximum of 250 units will be collected upon the first collection.

1.3. Stud Stock breeders may place a sale bull, prior to sale, into the Breeder Genetic program

1.3.1. Stud Stock breeders will be required to become a member to access 1.3.

1.3.2. The bull will be collected before sale.

1.3.3. The breeder may collect the bull for in herd use only. This will be at the cost of the individual submitting the bull.

1.3.4. The successful purchaser and owner will be charged at collection cost per unit for semen purchases.

1.3.4.1. Collection cost will be determined from the collection cost divided by the number of straws frozen.

1.3.5. The successful purchaser will have the first access to the semen for that nominated bull.

1.3.6. A maximum of 200 units will be collected upon the first collection.

1.4. All bulls submitted into the program have/will be;

1.4.1. Parent verified.

1.4.2. Genomic tested.

1.4.3. Genetic Condition free (AM, NH, CA and DD).

1.4.4. BVDV (Pestivirus) free by diagnostic test.

1.4.5. Campylobacter (Vibriosis) and Leptospirosis free through vaccination (i.e. double vaccination plus annual booster), or laboratory diagnostic test.

1.4.6. 1.4.1, 1.4.2, 1.4.3, 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 will be all done at the cost and under the management of the individual submitting the bull.

2. Removing Bulls

2.1. After two years, the bull will be evaluated as to whether they stay or leave the program

2.1.1. If there are minimal semen sales for a bull for the two year period, the bull will be removed from Breeder Genetics.

2.1.1.1. This will be communicated to the breeder/individual who submitted the bull along with semen sales history.

2.1.1.2. Breeder Genetics will have the final say in the matter.

2.1.1.3. Any remaining semen will either be returned to the owner or discarded.

2.1.2. Following the initial two-year review, periodically, every year a review will be conducted with the same terms as 2.1.1.

2.2. Bulls will be removed if;

2.2.1. If the owner has been found to have sold free semen received or semen purchased at collection cost.

2.2.2. If the owner is selling the free semen received or semen purchased at collection cost.

2.2.2.1. The revenue returned to that owner will be terminated as a result of 2.21 and/or 2.2.2.

2.3. The terms of 2.2 can be negotiated upon submitting a bull.

2.4. The individual/owner of the bull reserves the right to remove there nominated bull at any point in time.

3. Bull Submissions

3.1. Individuals must be a member to submit a bull.

3.2. Bull submissions will be made via;

3.2.1. The website.

3.2.2. Contacting Breeder Genetics directly.

3.3. The bull submissions will not roll over from year to year.

3.4. The number of bull submissions will be depended on membership.

4. Membership

4.1. Membership will be paid annually.

4.2. Membership will be charged automatically.

4.2.1. Members will be notified before being charged.

4.3. Members may terminate their Breeder Genetics membership at any point in time.

5. Semen Collection, Storage and Quality

5.1. Breeder Genetics will arrange for the bull to be collected on farm at the owner’s convenience and Breeder Genetics expense.

5.2. Breeder Genetic will pay for semen storage.

5.3. All semen collected will have to reach a specific standard of;

5.3.1. Progressive motility above 40%.

5.3.2. Morphology 70% or above.

5.3.3. Concentration above 20 million sperm per straw (80 million per millilitre).

5.4. There will be no exceptions on any bulls for 5.3.

6. Price Setting and Sales

6.1. The price will be per unit/straw.

6.2. The price will be mutually agreed between the bull owner and Breeder Genetics.

6.3. If either Breeder Genetics or the bull owner wishes to change the price, each party must and will be consulted.

6.4. Discounts will be giving;

6.4.1. On orders over 100 units.

6.4.2. On orders over 100 units for commercial use.

6.4.2.1. For 6.4.2 to be awarded, 40 units must be from one individual bull.

6.4.3. To all members.

6.5. The sale of semen will be conducted through;

6.5.1. The Breeder Genetics Website.

6.5.2. Contacting Breeder Genetics directly.

7. Returned Revenue

7.1. The individual who submitted the bull or owns the bull will receive a stipulated percent of the revenue generated from the bulls semen sales.

7.1.1. The amount will be depend on the bull's revenue level.
7.1.2.

Level 1 1-399 30%
Level 2 400-799 34%
Level 3 800-1199 39%
Level 4 1200+ 45%

7.1.3. The units sold will be accumulative over time.

7.1.3.1. Example: If 1000 units are sold, the first 399 will be at level 1, the next 400 at level 2 and the remaining 201 units at level 3

7.1.4. The unit sold count will not restart;

7.1.4.1. If there is a change of ownership.

7.1.4.2. If there is a price change.

7.1.4.3. After any given time period.

7.1.5. If the bull is removed then re-submitted the units sold count will restart.

7.2. The returned revenue amount will be paid out annually.

7.3. If any semen is sold on a bull that’s has been submitted pre auction the revenue will go to the successful purchaser.

7.4. Breeder Genetics retains the right to restart the units sold count at anytime on any bull.

 

8. Catalogue Placement and Advertising

8.1. Catalogue placement will start with bulls that were acquired by Breeder Genetics followed by all other bulls that have been submitted.

8.1.1. Individuals with the most bulls in the program will have priority within the catalogue then followed in alphabetical order of stud name.

8.2. If a bull has been consigned to Breeder Genetics before it has been sold at auction, it will be up to the discretion of the new owner on where the bull is placed within the catalogue.

8.2.1. The bull may be placed with the original seller or the new owner.

8.3. Owners are permitted to have an advertisement/information about themselves within the catalogue.

8.3.1. The owner must provide this information/advertisement by a given date.

8.4. There will be no sorting within the book placement according to different cattle breeds.

 

9. Website Sire Listing

9.1. All bulls will be graded upon submission on maternal, growth, carcase, structure, calving ease and docility and overall likability on a 5 star rating system.

9.1.1. This will be completed by the individual submitting the bull.

9.1.2. This information will be made public.

9.1.3. Once the bull is on the website, other individuals will have the ability to;

9.1.3.1. Grade on maternal, growth, carcase, structure, calving ease and docility and overall likability on a 5 star rating system.

9.1.3.1.1. An average will be generated from the overall rating given by reviewers and displayed.

9.1.3.2. Add photos (.jpg or .png files) and video links of progeny.

9.1.3.3. Add documents (.jpg or .png files) such as weights or kill sheet from progeny.

9.1.3.4. 9.1.3.1, 9.1.3.2 and 9.1.3.3 will not be anonymous.

9.2. Overall comments of the bull will be made available for any individual to make.

9.3. Breeder Genetics retains the rights to remove any content or material relating to 9.1 and 9.2.
